Classes are taught by a certified fitness instructor to ensure quality assurance and safety. Your fitness instructor will measure your starting point in several key areas of strength\, mobility and balance and continue to help you monitor your progress throughout your participation. DESCRIPTION:Memory Care Support Series – Brain Changes 201: Understanding memory loss progression\n\n\nThis 6-month series is designed for caregivers caring for a loved one with memory loss. We will walk through many aspects of this journey with you\, from learning the basics of memory loss and dementia to end of life planning. We will help you understand the changes that are occurring with your loved one and how to address them without forgetting your own self-care! In the process\, you will also become a certified Dementia Friend\, an important member of the community who can help destigmatize dementia and make difference in the lives of those experiencing memory loss.  \nIn accordance with CDC guidelines\, masking at PCOA facilities is optional for staff\, volunteers\, and members of the public. CDC recommends people at high risk of serious illness from COVID 19 discuss when they should wear masks and other precautions with their healthcare provider. PCOA representatives will gladly put on a mask at your request. Participants at in-person event(s) will be expected to adhere to distancing and safety guidelines as provided. Guidelines for functions held in community sites not operated by PCOA may vary.

DESCRIPTION:First Aid & CPR Training and Certification\n\n\nThe AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid\, CPR\, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe\, timely\, and effective manner.   \nWhat does this course teach?  \n\nFirst Aid Basics\nMedical emergencies \nInjury emergencies \nEnvironmental emergencies \nPreventing illness and injury \nAdult CPR and AED use \nOpioid-associated life-threatening emergencies \nChild CPR AED and Infant CPR \n\n Why take the time to become certified?  \n\nYou could save someone’s life in an emergency situation \nOpportunity to increase someone’s comfort during a medical emergency \nThese skills can prevent a circumstance or someone symptoms from worsening while they wait for medical attention \nBeing certified adds value to your community – your training can help to save a persons life in your family\, job\, neighborhood or community! \n\n This is an opportunity to gain the skills you need to help others during times of crisis.
