SUMMARY:ALTCS Workshop - March 2025 (In-Person Event)
DESCRIPTION:ALTCS Workshop\n\n\nThe ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System) Workshop is designed for individuals and family caregivers in the community to learn more about Arizona’s long term care Medicaid program. Long term care is expensive. Many cannot afford it. The ALTCS program enables people who need help with their personal care needs to continue living independently for as long as possible\, or receive the support they need in a safe placement where their care needs can be met. \n \nTopics we’ll cover: \n· The financial criteria for eligibility (both income and resources) \n· How much care one requires for their personal needs to meet the medical eligibility criteria \n· What to do if an applicant’s income or resources exceed the income limit \n· What it means to spend-down and when it’s necessary \n· What Share of Cost means–who it applies to and who it doesn’t \n· Estate recovery and perhaps dispel some myths \nPCOA holds the ALTCS workshop on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM. There is no cost to attend. The presentation alternates each month between In-Person (seating is limited) and Virtual (via Zoom). For more information or to register please contact Pima Council on Aging at (520) 790-7262. \n \nRegistration is required. Seating is limited for in-person workshops\, please contact us if you are unable to attend. \n \nAt PCOA\, we prioritize the health and safety of our community members. In alignment with current CDC guidelines\, masks are not required. While masks are not mandatory\, they are available at our front desks for anyone who prefers to use them. Individuals at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 or any airborne contagion are advised to consult their healthcare provider regarding appropriate precautions\, including mask usage. Please be aware that guidelines for events held at community sites not managed by PCOA may vary.
