SUMMARY:ALTCS Workshop - April 2025 (Online Event)
DESCRIPTION:ALTCS Workshop\n\n\nThe ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System) Workshop is designed for individuals and family caregivers in the community to learn more about Arizona’s long term care Medicaid program. Long term care is expensive. Many cannot afford it. The ALTCS program enables people who need help with their personal care needs to continue living independently for as long as possible\, or receive the support they need in a safe placement where their care needs can be met. \n \nTopics we’ll cover: \n \n· The financial criteria for eligibility (both income and resources) \n· How much care one requires for their personal needs to meet the medical eligibility criteria \n· What to do if an applicant’s income or resources exceed the income limit \n· What it means to spend-down and when it’s necessary \n· What Share of Cost means–who it applies to and who it doesn’t \n· Estate recovery and perhaps dispel some myths \n \nPCOA holds the ALTCS workshop on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM. There is no cost to attend. The presentation alternates each month between In-Person (seating is limited) and Virtual (via Zoom). For more information or to register please contact Pima Council on Aging at (520) 790-7262. \n \nRegistration is required. Please contact us if you are unable to attend.

SUMMARY:Conscious Aging Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of reflection and growth as we explore the journey of aging with mindfulness and intention.\n\n\nThis event is a two part event that takes place on April 28 & May 5 at 2:00 PM. Please plan to attend both sessions. \nConscious aging invites us to embrace aging not just as a passage of time but as a developmental stage of life. It’s an opportunity to harvest the wisdom gained from our experiences\, embrace new possibilities\, and shed the fears and societal patterns that often hold us back. By shifting our focus from “doing” to “being\,” we open ourselves to creativity\, resilience\, and deeper wisdom—moving from role to soul. \nDr. Trish Davis is a gerontologist and social psychologist with 10+ years in the field of aging and education. Certified in Conscious Aging\, over two afternoon sessions she will engage participants in creative exercises\, gentle yoga\, and guided meditation designed to bring awareness to the intentional journey of conscious aging and living.
