Keeping Their Memory Alive: Exploring El Dia de los Muertos

October 4, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Keeping Their Memory Alive: Exploring El Dia de los Muertos

Please join PCOA’s End of Life Team for “Keeping Their Memory Alive: Exploring El Dia de los Muertos”, an educational night to learn about Dia de los Muertos. Our guest speakers will look at the cultural and historical background of this day along with ofrendas, the elements commonly found on ofrendas, and why those elements are significant. There will be time for a question-and-answer session so come with any questions you have about Dia de los Muertos. A community ofrenda will be available to add pictures of your loved ones*.

*Please limit photos to 4 x 6 in size so we can accommodate as many photos as possible. Please make sure to put your contact information (name and phone number) on the back of any photos you contribute so we can ensure that it gets returned to you. Items should be contributed by October 31st and will be part of the ofrenda until November 18th. Items will need to be picked up by November 21st.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masking at PCOA facilities is recommended and encouraged for staff, volunteers, and members of the public. Masks will be available if needed at our front desks. CDC recommends people at high risk of serious illness from COVID 19 discuss when they should wear masks and other precautions with their healthcare provider. PCOA representatives will gladly put on a mask at your request. For the time being, food will not be permitted to be served indoors at our facilities. Participants at in-person event(s) will be expected to adhere to distancing and safety guidelines as provided. For small or large group settings where 6 feet of physical distance cannot be always maintained, masks will be required. Guidelines for functions held in community sites not operated by PCOA may vary.
